Coalition of Ministries For Older Adults

Join with other leaders who share a passion for working with older adults in congregational and agency settings. Monthly lunch meetings provide an opportunity for networking, support, advocacy, and learning for clergy, lay leaders, and aging service providers. Meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of each month (except July, August, and December), 11:45-1:00, at various locations throughout the community.

Senior Financial Care Programs and Services

Vera Guthrie, Certified Credit and HECM Counselor Senior Financial Care

Do you know any older adults who struggle to manage their finances? Did you know that there is a service in our community whose mission is to help those 60 and older "improve the management of their finances so they can live more independently for a longer period of time"? Senior Financial Care, a program of Financial Pathways of the Piedmont does just that. Vera Guthrie from their staff will give us information about services that are available and also provide some insight into the kinds of situations she encounters as a financial counselor with older adults. Come join us!

The mission of the Coalition of Ministries for Older Adults is to provide opportunities for networking, fellowship, and mutual support for those who work with older adults within congregations or community agencies; to offer a variety of educational programs that will enable those who serve older adults to expand their knowledge of information, tools, and resources; to serve in an advocacy role in the community when issues arise that affect the well-being of older adults.
