The
Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem was
awarded a $25,000 grant by the Kate B. Reynolds
Charitable Trust of Winston-Salem in July 2003.
The
funds from the two-year grant will be used to
further expand the Faith In Action Care Program
which provides respite care, visitation, transportation
and minor home repair services to homebound
older adults in the greater Winston-Salem community.
The
Shepherd's Center interfaith ministry has significantly
expanded the Faith In Action Care Program over
the last three years. With requests for services
growing dramatically, the generous support of
the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust will be
used to respond to the needs of older adults
in our community.
The
Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust was created
in 1947 by the will of Mrs. William N. Reynolds
of Winston-Salem . Three fourths of the Trust's
grants are designated for use for health-related
programs and services across North Carolina
and one fourth is designated for the poor and
needy of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
